Scented Votive Candles
Along with traditional pillar candles, votive candles are one of the most in-demand candle types on the market today. Votives are small, cylindrical candles that are generally 1-1/2” thick and 2-2-1/2” high. Although they are stable enough to stand on their own, votive candles must be placed in specially designed votive holders or small cups to catch the melting wax and reduce the risk of fire hazard.
Originally created in a non-scented white formation, votive candles were at one time used purely for symbolic purposes during church services, weddings, and religious ceremonies. Today, they are available in a wide spectrum of vibrant colorations and fragrances.
Due to their petite stature, votive candles are highly versatile and portable—place them on a bathroom sink top, a kitchen windowsill, nestled in a centerpiece, or anywhere you need an unexpected splash of color and fragrance. Many candelabras, wall sconces, and decorative candleholders are specially designed to accommodate votive candles. At weddings or special events, a scented votive candle placed in a personalized holder serves as a great party favor for guests to take home as a keepsake—and, of course, their small size and affordability make them ideal stocking stuffers during the holidays.
